I took a wrong turn and missed the entrance. But what I saw before turning around was so beautiful to me that I stopped and got out of the car. I took the first photographs and videos over the wall from the outside and was stunned: This was the perfect place to be called a FOREST CEMETERY (Waldfriedhof).

Zentralfriedhof Danzig

The cemetery is located in an area with hills and terraces have been contructed / Der Friedhof liegt an Hügeln und wurde terrassenförmig angelegt

I then parked my car in front of the entrance (I did not see a proper parking lot, space for some 5+ cars only I would say) and walked in. Even though I come from the city with the largest park cemetery in Europe, this forest immediately looked to me like the most beautiful place on earth to rest forever. Embraced and protected by trees, those strong, silent and resilient living things.

These are a few horizontal still images to give a calm first impression. The next page contains the videos I have made. Please also check on Instagram cemeteries361.
