What an amazing site, arriving in darkest winter time up here in Northern Norway!

We arrived very early and I was not quite awake yet, nor had I expected to go into church so very early. But awake enough to be happy about being taken to this graveyard I did not expect.

This time I add a few photos of the church that stands in the graveyard, as that was the main point of our visit, as it was such a beautiful visit, and as the light was so amazing, the natural light in combination with the lightened church.

This is the old Trondenes church near Harstad, the Northern most medieval stone church (in Norway – I am not sure whether that means that it is in Norway or that there is another one similar further North on earth).

This far up North and WWII left a lot of people dead here. Sad. “For Fatherland and Freedom”
